Comparison between Christianity and Islam - 919 Words

1. The World consists of two religions, those who believe only faith in Christ can save you and those who believe good works can save you. We see this in the comparison of Islam and Christianity. Christianity and Islam have some similar beliefs. For instance, we both believe that there is one God who made and created the universe and is the one supreme ruler above all else. We agree that he is the source of all that is moral and just, and that he has final say in our afterlife. Even though we have some common beliefs there are many things that we disagree on. There is contrast between almost every important religious doctrine. In Islam, a man can have up to four wives at the same time, he is given the right to beat his disobedient wife until she obeys, and they justify prostitution by â€Å"marrying† the woman for the night. The men think they can do whatever they want, while women have no to little rights. Christianity condones none of the above abuses of women. Even though in the Old Testament men had many wives it is seen as sinful behavior. The bible insists on marriage with one man and one woman. â€Å"And he shall not acquire many wives for himself, lest his heart turn away, nor shall he acquire for himself excessive silver and gold† (Deuteronomy 17:17).
